The Series 30 software platform is an application user interface used on Nokia’s broad range of entry-level mobile devices. Most, if not all of Nokia’s no-frills phones such as the Nokia 1600, Nokia 2310 and Nokia 5030 XpressRadio run on the Series 30 platform, although some now use the more advanced Series 40 interface, albeit lacking some certain features common on mid-range Series 40 phones.
The Nokia 3510i, an early Series 30 phone released in 2002 was equipped with Series 40 capabilities to gain Java ME and polyphonic MIDI sound experience. Later Series 30 devices dropped some of the said features in favor of embedded content and less emphasis on extra features such as Internet connectivity, although the Nokia X1-00 and the dual SIM X1-01 came equipped with an MP3 player and a micro SD slot built in, allowing for up to 16GB of memory. Nokia 100 and 101 are Series 30 devices. The Nokia 103 is also a Series 30 device, but it does not have a color screen like the two other current Series 30 devices.
